First Visit

Why is pediatric dentistry important?

Pediatric dentistry is crucial for your children's long-term dental health. Neglected visits to the dentist can lead to undetected dental problems, dental anxiety, susceptibility to infections and sleep disorders. An early establishment of dental care habits and the specialized care of children are essential. We would therefore like to ask you, as parents, to give pediatric dentistry the attention it deserves. Investing in your children's dental care is an investment in their future and quality of life.

Small patients, big care

Children are special patients. We know this as parents and as dentists. We deal with shyness, fear, impatience, children's questions, etc. with patience, empathy, calmness and humour. And we know what small teeth need as experts who always keep up to date and keep a special eye on children's dental health for the benefit of the little ones. In paediatric dentistry, special emphasis is placed on the psychological care of children in order to avoid negative experiences and create the basis for lifelong dental awareness. Through regular check-ups, preventive measures and good cooperation between dentists and parents, dental and oral diseases can be detected and treated at an early stage.

The following aspects are considered and examined:

  • Control of the child's general health and check for the presence of allergies or systemic diseases that may affect dental treatment.
  • Assessment of dental and oral hygiene and appropriate recommendations for daily dental care, such as the selection of child-friendly toothbrushes, toothpastes and dental floss.
  • Checking baby teeth for signs of tooth decay and other dental or oral diseases, such as inflammation of the gums. Preventive measures, such as fluoridation and fissure sealing, also play an important role.
  • Assessment of jaw development and possible tooth misalignments. If necessary, early childhood orthodontic treatments are considered.
  • Nutritional counseling to promote tooth-friendly eating habits at an early stage.
  • Simple explanations and child-friendly information to awaken the joy of healthy teeth and to make the child and parents aware of the benefits of good dental care.
  • Support and support for parents in establishing a daily dental care routine for their child and recommendations for regular check-ups, usually at least once a year.
